The most common mistakes in bike maintenance

A bike is a delicate and sensitive mechanism. It's easy to mess up and harder to fine-tune afterwards. We have the three most common mistakes that happen during routine maintenance for you.

1. Be careful with lubrication
Lubricate yes, but not everywhere. Everything in moderation, this saying also applies to bikes. Be especially careful that the lubricant does not get into the cassette, which can result in an unnecessary and premature replacement of the plate or disc.

2. Do not tighten too much
The bike must hold together, but at the same time it is not necessary to tighten the screws with excessive force. It is often a good idea to look at the specific torque value in newton meters. The stem, seat post and frame do not need to be tightened.

3. Pay attention to the order of the components
When disassembling, don't be shy to take a picture of the order of the individual washers, bearings, etc., there is very few ways worse on the nerves than trying it by trial and error. Often the error sneaks in, for example, when figuring out the "middle".

And finally, of course, we wish you as few mistakes as possible when servicing your percious!
