How to fix a punctured tube on a bike

A punctured tube belongs to cycling. Any defect must be anticipated in advance. It is advisable to go out with a tube gluing kit or a new inner tube on every cycling trip. We will advise you how to glue the tube quickly, simply and efficiently.

How to fix a punctured tube on a bike
Repairing a tube on a bike is simple. So how to glue the tube to the bicycle so that your trip can continue without further problems? First of all, you need to remove the wheel. If you have a punctured front tube, it's simple. You just remove the wheel from the quick release. In the case of the rear wheel, it is advisable to engage the heaviest gear and then remove the wheel. Subsequently, it is necessary to remove the casing from the rim and remove the inner tube. If it doesn't work by hand, use mounting levers. Put one under the cloak and secure the hook with the spoke. With the other, expose the entire rim. Subsequently, it is necessary to remove the cap from the valve and take out the inner tube.

If the defect is visible with the naked eye, you win. If not, use water. If you cannot submerge the tube in water, it is enough to at least rub it with water. Mark the spot with chalk and dry your soul. Afterwards, sand the area a bit with sandpaper to make the patch stick better. Now it's time to release some air and apply the glue and let it dry. The drying time may vary for individual patches, always follow the instructions. Only then use the patch. Press it in and press for a while so that it really holds. You can then remove the foil. Then clean with chalk. Dry clay can also work. This way the patch will not stick to your tire.

Now all that remains is to put the tube back on the wheel. During this act, however, the usual error occurs and the soul is damaged again. First, inflate the tube slightly to hold its shape. Then place it in the rim under the tire and carefully return the tire to its place. Be careful not to get the tube between the rim and the casing and damage the tube. Check if the tube fits well. Subsequently, check that the line that is indicated on the side of the tire copies the rim at the same distance around the entire perimeter, then inflate. After that, all you have to do is return the entire wheel back on the bike frame. The entire repair should not take you more than 30 minutes. Considering the purchase costs of the gluing kit, which is really low, it is definitely worth carrying the kit with you at all times.

Keep in mind that if the valve is torn, gluing will not help you and you will need to replace the inner tube with a new one.
